LCDR DesaRae Janszen Named Director of Auxiliary, District 11 Southern Region

Lieutenant Commander DesaRae A. Janszen, USCG, has been named Director of Auxiliary to succeed Commander Greg Matlin, whose watch ends 28 February 2012. LCDR Janszen is currently Waterways Management Division Chief for Sector San Francisco, where her duties include managing the Vessel Traffic Service San Francisco, the Aids to Navigation Team San Francisco, and the Waterways Safety Branch.

LCDR Janszen is a graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, and holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts degree. She has extensive experience on shore and at sea in a variety of operational and staff roles, and holds two Coast Guard Commendation Medals, two Coast Guard Achievement Medals, the Navy Achievement Medal, and six Meritorious Team Medals. She was selected for Commander in August, 2011 and will begin her tenure as DIRAUX at that rank.
